Bank Rating

The Kiowa County National Bank (Branch Girard National Bank) was recently awarded an "Outstanding Rating" by federal banking examiners in recognition of the bank's efforts to respond to the credit needs of the local community.

The Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), initially enacted by Congress in 1977, encourages banks to meet the credit needs of low- and moderate- income neighborhoods. The CRA requires that banks be evaluated on how well they meet the needs of these neighborhoods and communities. Banks can be awarded one of four ratings: Substantial Noncompliance, Needs Improvement, Satisfactory, and Outstanding.
